Videos For Loan

Two videos that teach the basics about 9-1-1 are available for loan to Maine schools and public safety organizations through the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s Library. To borrow materials, please make your requests at least 2 weeks but no more than 6 months in advance by phone at 207-877-8003.

  • “The Great 9-1-1 Adventure™” stars Red E. Fox, America’s newest and most delightful super hero. His job is to teach kids how to use 9-1-1. This video delivers important instructions to children ages 4 to 7, all in an entertaining and memorable way. Running time: 18 minutes.
  • “Help! Call 9-1-1!©” teaches kids how to use the most important tool a telephone can offer—the 9-1-1 phone number. The video shows kids a variety of emergency situations that need to be handled immediately and where call 9-1-1 actually saved lives. It also helps kids learn instances when they should call 9-1-1 and when it’s inappropriate. Recommended for children 8 – 12 years. Running Time: 12 minutes.

Speakers

If you are interested in having a 9-1-1 dispatcher make a presentation at your school, contact the Bureau by email to info911@state.me.us, or by phone, 1-888-448-3803, at least 2 weeks in advance. Make sure you tell us the name of the school, its location, contact information and the date requested (if known). The Bureau will try to match you up with a 9-1-1 educator from your area.
